Setting up your new WordPress blog

  1. Sign up as an affiliate at www.godaddy.com and www.hostgator.comSetting up your new WordPress blog
  2. Send your GoDaddy affiliate link to your client and have them register their domain name or get their credit card info and register it for them
  3. Send your HostGator affiliate link to your client and have them sign up for webhosting or get their credit card info and register it for them
  4. Set up the webhosting account using the new domain name
  5. Log into GoDaddy and change the DNS settings so the domain name points to the HostGator server
  6. Set up the blog using Fantastico
  7. Configure the clients website in your ftp program
    1. ftp.domainname.com
    2. Username
    3. Password
  8. Upload, activate and configure the plugins
  9. Upload and customize the theme

10.  Set up a gmail account for the client

11. Set up an account at www.feedburner.com

12. Install the Feeburner WordPress plugin on the blog and configure it using the new feedburner settings

  1. Create a chicklet at Feedburner and copy the code into a new widget on the blog
  2. Set up social media accounts at Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Squidoo and HubPages.
  3. Connect the blog to these new sites using the Feedburner feed URL
  4. Create a spreadsheet with all user accounts for you and the client
